A woman was hit by lightning while sitting on a Walton County beach Thursday afternoon.
According to sheriff's deputies, the woman, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was in critical condition.
The unidentified woman was sitting under a beach umbrella behind Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort about 1:45 when the lightning bolt struck.
No one else on the beach was injured in the incident.
The woman vacationer was taken to a south Walton hospital where she's listed in critical condition.
