Officials with the hospital's managing company, Quorum Health Resources, fired West this week, although they would not say why.
Quorum management credited West with Jackson Hospital's recent financial turn-around and physician recruitment. But, they apparently still felt a change at the top was needed.
Former Jackson Hospital CEO Chuck Ellis will replace West while the company searches for a new leader for its Marianna hospital.
