At least two northwest Florida School Districts have already come up with cell phone policies.
Neither Jackson or Washington County school officials are allowing the students to use the phones during school hours.
Jackson County School Board members say they are concerned about students using their cell phones to cheat
Frank Waller of the Jackson County School Board in Marianna is one of those questioning legislative action earlier this year allowing the cell phones.
"One big concern is security. Teachers giving exams is one area. With the new technology of the cell phones having the capability of taking pictures and text messaging, it presents a whole new set of problems. We just want to make sure our classroom are secure."
The policies, though are more lenient than last year when neither Jackson or Washington counties would even let cell phones on a school campus
Bay County School Board members are set to address the issue in Panama City area schools when they meet on Wednesday.
