Monday’s discovery of 18-year-old Lee Hidle's body in some woods off State Road 2 brought a two-day search to a close.
Holmes County sheriff's deputies say they clocked Hidle doing 87 miles an hour on a motorcycle late Saturday night. The deputy, who spotted the bike, says by the time he turned his patrol car around, Hidle was out of sight, headed toward the state line.
When Hidle didn't return to his Geneva, Alabama home, his family reported him missing.
Authorities found Hidle's body two days later near a sharp curve on County Road 177-A.
Investigators believe Hidle lost control and ran into the heavily wooded area. The crash is still under investigation.
