A landlord plans to evict Polish students working summer jobs in Shalimar from their doublewide trailer.

Officials say the trailer is unsafe because it violates fire codes.

The owner, former state Senator Vince Bruner, says he will ask about 10 remaining students to leave the old trailer.

Bruner says he can't afford to install sprinklers or an alarm system to bring the trailer into compliance as he plans to raze it in a couple months. Bruner says he will try to find other housing for the students. He plans to appeal to local residents for help.

The students, often working two or more jobs, make around $8.00 an hour and are trying to save money for college when they return to Poland in October.
