The St. Joe Company, The Heart Association and Bay County sheriff’s deputies may help save your life today.
The St. Joe Foundation and the Heart Association have donated 55 Automated External Defibrillators to the Bay County Sheriff’s Department in Panama City.
Along with the AEDs the department already had on hand, this means 64 of the department’s almost 100 patrol cars now have the lifesaving devices.
The deputies are trained to use them, and one of the AEDs has already saved a life.
Sheriff Frank McKeithen says the first AEDs went to areas of the county where the ambulance had the longest response time.
St. Joe, by the way, is also donating a number of the devices in three of our neighboring counties.
