A 21-month investigation has produced one of the biggest drug busts in Jackson County's history. And this is just some of what they were able to take off the streets. Investigators seized 16 kilos of cocaine worth about 400-thousand dollars and more than 100-thousand in cash.
They also arrested 20-people.
A task force made up of officers from Jackson Calhoun and Leon counties, and Dothan and Columbus, Georgia participated in this lengthy operation.
Despite the success, Jackson County Sheriff Johnny McDaniel says they're still making more arrests.
"We still have about 16 warrants that they haven't had a chance to serve under Operation Crackdown, we still have local dealers that we're picking up now."
As a result of this case, the Jackson County sheriff's office has a new drug task force nicknamed "Operation Undertaker."
The next target will be the local methamphetamine trade.
