Panama City Police say Trakennia Goldsmith, who works as a housekeeper, used a knife to stab 27-year-old Brandy Speight in the chest just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

The murder happened at Goldsmith's house in the 1300 block of Lincoln Drive in Panama City.

Police say Speight later died from the chest wound. They say Goldsmith ran from the scene and was picked up around five hours later near Florida Avenue and Highway 390 in Lynn Haven.

Goldsmith will make a first appearance before a judge Sunday morning.
