Springfield- The 2008 presidential candidate for the Constitution Party was in Bay County Tuesday night to speak to the Bay Patriots group. About 200 people gathered at the Springfield community building to hear from Dr. Chuck Baldwin.

Bay Patriots say they want to see our government abide by the principles of the constitution and they endorse the idea of smaller government. Baldwin says the movement is growing, "I think we are recognizing the fact that the big government folks working in Washington DC today are not doing so for in the interest of freedom and liberty. They seem to be doing so for the interest of big government and big corporatism. I think people are recognizing if they don't get back to a constitutional government we are not going to have our freedoms much longer."

The Bay Patriots meet monthly and have roughly 350 members. They say the goal of their group is to educate people on the US Constitution.
