The State Fire Marshall is investigating a fire at the Parker City Playground on East Business 98 Saturday morning. The blaze caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.
The playground area used to be shaped like a boat with lots of plastic and rubber playground equipment safe for children. Now, it’s just a pile of melted material.
Parker Firemen got the call around 10:30 Saturday morning. When they arrived the playground equipment was engulfed in flames.
Its mostly likely a case of arson, but it hasn’t been determined who is responsible for setting the flames.
The playground at the Parker Sports Complex is now off limits until the investigation is completed and the burned material is removed.
No one was hurt.
