Two guards at a northwest Florida prison are accused of smuggling marijuana and cell phones into the Graceville facility.

Jackson County Sheriff's officials said Thursday an informant notified authorities of the scheme at Graceville Correctional Facility.

Police say 24-year-old Bradford Daniels would supply contraband to inmates and have them send $1,000 in wire transfers to his girlfriend. The other guard, 23-year-old Matthew Tyler Crawford, helped Daniels bypass the metal detector and searches.

Both are charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a secure facility. Daniels' girlfriend is also charged in the case.

I was a Correctional Officer for 3 yrs and yes there are alot of Officers that are dirty but, there are quite a few that are really good hearted people who are just trying to support their families the best way they can. They are highly trained here in Florida we have one of the most intensive training programs in the U.S. today. That being said no matter how much the person is trained on right and wrong if your that type of person your eventually going to slip up and get caught being stupid and ruin the rest of your life for a little extra money on the side.
