An abandoned landfill in Panama City may soon be cleaned up. The landfill is off of Sherman and 9th avenue.
The Bay County commission is looking to partner up with the city of Panama City and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to clean up the site.
Neighbors who live nearby say they're ready to see it go.
"I think that it should be cleaned up. Maybe they need to rebuild it. Put something new up there because it's starting to look really bad in our neighborhood," said Catherine Futral, a neighbor.
The site is owned by the Coyote Panama City Waste Processing Facility. The county commission will discuss the cleanup Tuesday morning at 9 am.
