Man Hospitalized After Car Accident on Highway 231

PANAMA CITY - Three cars traveling north on Highway 231 crashed around 4 p.m. Panama City Police say a black car and a silver SUV were stopped at a traffic light, when a truck slammed into them.

The truck hitting the silver SUV and that car then hit the other vehicle.

In one of the cars, a mother was with her sons.

"I could not get the door opened to my two year old. They were both strapped into a car seat," said Catrina Stewart. "He was in a car seat. My seven year old was strapped in. I couldn't get the door opened, but I got it. Scared to death, scared, lots of things running through my head."

Officials say a man was taken to Bay Medical Sacred Heart with minor injuries. Everyone else was okay.

Officials closed the street, but later reopened it.
