A Southport teenager is now a suspect in as many as 40-incidents of false police reports across the country.
Bay County Sheriff's Investigators re-arrested 16-year old Cody Blaine Jones Tuesday on two new charges in-connection with incidents known as "swatting."
Authorities say Jones called police in Brookfield, Wisconsin and Modesto, California on September 15th and reported crimes requiring swat teams to respond.
In the Brookfield case, Jones allegedly claimed he was holding a hostage in a house and was armed with guns and homemade bombs.
In the Modesto case, he claimed he'd shot his mother and barricaded himself in the house.
Bay County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Jones on September 20th, saying he'd called authorities in Broomall, Pennsylvania, the day before, claiming a man armed with an AR-15 assault rifle and an IED had taken him hostage.
His first arrest happened last year for a similar stunt at Bay Point.
Jones is facing two additional charges of false report of a bomb but other agencies from across the country have contacted local investigators saying they've developed Jones as a suspect in as many as 40-swatting cases they're investigating.
