The area will be filled with cancer survivors and people from all walks of life hoping to find a cure to the killer disease.
“It’s looking like we are getting a lucky break in the weather,” said Joby Smith, Relay For Life of Panama City Event Chair. “If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move the festivities inside the gym. We are not going to let a little rain set us back.”
The opening ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 3 with a Survivor Lap followed by the Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m. Closing ceremonies begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4.
There is still time for residents to register for the 2013 event or donate to the cause. Residents can visit www.relayforlife.org/panamacityfl for event information as well as donation and registration opportunities. Onsite registration is also available the day of the event.
