An editorial in FAMU’s hometown newspaper blasts University President Dr. James Ammons for the hazing that killed drum major Robert Champion.
The column calls for Ammons resignation. We ask Governor Rick Scott about the future of Ammons at FAMU.
“I believe justice is going to prevail, which is the right thing and I suggested that President Ammons step aside during the investigation, but the board is going to make a decision,” said Governor Rick Scott when asked about the future of Ammons at FAMU.
Apart from the murder investigation that saw eleven people arrested, FDLE is also investigating the finances of the band. Their investigation won’t be completed for a few more months.
