The threat of rain in the forecast didn't deter the local law enforcement participants from completing their torch run to benefit Special Olympics.
It all started at the Publix Supermarket on Highway 77 in Lynn Haven.
About twenty local law enforcement officers and Special Olympic athletes started the three mile run to raise money and awareness for the Florida Special Olympics. Everyone got a chance to carry the torch along the route.
They completed the three mile run at the 23rd Street Publix a little wetter than when they started but no less enthusiastic.
Since its inception in 1981, the law enforcement torch run has raised more than $414 million dollars for the Special Olympics movement worldwide.
