The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the murder of Terry Brazil.
Brazil’s body was found Thursday in his mobile home on Highway 167 in northern Bay County. Deputies went to check on him after getting a call from his doctor’s office. Brazil had missed several appointments.
The Sheriff's Office said Philip Brock of Panama City beat, stabbed and shot Brazil two weeks before Christmas, then stole several guns, silver coin collections and his Cadillac.
Brock was arrested Friday on unrelated burglary charges. He is now charged with an open count of murder.
"Today, we got information back that there was DNA on the tape we found from the deceased victim and also Mr. Brock, that along with some other stuff we found during the search lead us to obtain a warrant and charges him with open count of homicide," said Sheriff Frank McKeithen.
Investigators said the two men were friends who sold items at the flea market on a regular basis.
The case will now be turned over to a grand jury, and more arrests are expected to be made.
