PANAMA CITY - Bay County's Supervisor of Elections, Mark Andersen, is responding to a recent report released by the Center for American Progress.
The report identifies Bay County as the 3rd worst in the state because of the number of absentee ballots rejected. They claim Bay County rejected twice the amount of absentee ballots compared to the state average.
Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen says he's found numerous problems with the report.
"They're saying these are the worst canvasing board offenders is what they're saying and that is just inappropriate," said Andersen. "We evaluate it. We go through the laws. We follow the laws and we count those that we can count and we do not count those that should not be counted."
Andersen says he's tried to reach out to the authors of the report, but has yet to hear from them. The report claims the two worst offenders in the state are Columbia and Putnam county.
