Fugitive Arrested By U.S. Marshals After International Chase

CRESTVIEW - U.S. Marshalls arrested an elderly fugitive wanted by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

78-year-old Norman Rushton is wanted by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office on a revoked bond warrant for Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation, as well as Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sexual Activity.

The U.S. Marshals Pensacola Task Force was asked to help Marshals in Panama City last week. Leads took them to Costa Rica and then back to the Panhandle on Tuesday, where they arrested Rushton in a hotel in Crestview with help from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Rushton was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail until he can be brought back to Bay County.
