Panama City - The Bay County Fair is back, better than ever, and gets underway Monday night.

Fair workers started moving in booths and rides Sunday afternoon. The fair opens Monday night at 6:00 p.m. and will run through Saturday.

It has around 40 rides, a Kiddy Land for small children, 15 food booths, and around 30 game booths.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights armbands are for sale for $10.00. Armbands for unlimited rides Thursday and Friday will be $20.00. For adults, $5 will get you in. The fair stays open until 10 pm.

Owner of the fair Bob Myers says for his 200 workers who travel with the fair coming to Bay County is like a homecoming.

"Everybody should support the Bay County Fair they have a lot of great exhibits and exhibit buildings. The grounds are wonderful they have a paved area here for strollers where they can push strollers all the way around. We've got beautiful weather and we've got a beautiful show setup here," said Myers.

The fair has been visiting Bay County for over 20 years.

There were more people at the fair this Tuesday than I have everseen. 10.00$ armbands must have got people out early. I wonder what the weekend will be like?

I thought about taking my two and a half year old to the fair but after reading these reviews, I think we will all have much more fun at the Seafood, Wine and Music Festival. That's sad that they didn't give your money back to you for your lil' boy and your grandchildren. That's ridiculous. I take my son to Pier Park at the beach, and even THEY gave me my money back when my son didn't want to play on the bounce houses or ride the train! Thank you for the warnings!!

I agree with the prices being too high for these economic conditions but I imagine that the owner feels the pinch al;so when you add up the wages, electricity, maintenance, insurance not just for their emplotees but also for the customers, and other costs which I may have missed. We all feel the pinch. I would like to take my wife, who is fighting breast cancer for the third time, on a ferris wheel ride but $40 plus a couple of drinks and a couple of games and there goes our medicine for the month.

prices for the fair are crazy, it should be were everyone can afford to go!! Theres nothing like telling a child you don't have the money to go. It should be something that everyone can go and have fun what's the world coming too.

Stephanie, they did this to me with two of my grandchildren last year. I paid for arm bands then went to merry go round and they would not let either one on so I tried to get my money back and they said no. I did not go play their games or buy their food as they encouraged me to do as they could not ride. I agree it is a rip off. I mean good grief the merry go round for a 3 and 4 year old?? I knew they were too small for most of the rides but the little cars that go around, merry go round, etc? And like I would be stupid enough to put my grandchildren on a ride that was too dangerous for their age. Needless to say we are also going to Peanut Festival this year with all 12 of our grandchildren, children and spouses. None will be going to Bay County fair.

I took my son to the Bay County fair tonight. It was the worst experience I have ever had. They refused to let him ride anything because he was BARELY under the height, and I mean BARELY.They were very rude,he was so sad.I payed the much too high prices and 1 minute later just inside the gate asked for a refund because my son was crying because he couldn't ride rides and they told me no,and too get over it.I think it is enough that they expect us to expose our children to alcoholic, drug dealing, convicts that run these rides and then they have the right to take my money and then look at my son and tell him he cannot ride. This is far from being over with.I hope that when I am through with these people they don't even have a fair.Over half of the staff is probably sex offenders and predators anyway.I am very upset by this. When you have to look at your child and tell them that they cannot ride anything out there it really hurts your heart but these people are heartless, money hungry scum!!

I've lived in Panama City all of my life and have been going to the fair ever since I can remember. I can agree that the cost is a bit out there, but it's worth it for me. It's like reliving my childhood over and over again. As long as Panama City has the Bay County Fair, I'll always be a happy customer.

This is not even a large fair, why are they charging so much? People should skip it and spend their money on something worth while. This is a total rip-off!!

So go tonight--$30 for three. Or have the adults not ride the rides--then it's only $5 for them to get in. I think it's $20 for a ride armband, but less to just get in and see the exhibits and eat the food.

I think the Peanut Festival is worth the money rather then the Bay County Fair.$20 arm band there is better then the one for the fair. You guys may need to re-evaluate the prices on that!
