Bill Price Entering Plea Agreement

An attorney facing criminal contempt charge Thursday morming has reached a plea deal.

Attorney William Price was accused of violating a court order telling him not to pursue certain lines of questioning in the recent trial of Julianna Ellzey.

Ellzey was on trial, and later convicted, for leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

Price had previously pleaded not guilty to contempt of court charges, but Thursday morning Price's attorney entered a plea agreement in court.

A portion of the agreement was discussed in court as the following, "the terms are that you will be placed on probation for a period of 6 months." "Yes, sir." "You pay a $300 fine." "Yes, sir." "You send a letter to the court reviewing the missteps and do 10 hours of community service work. You are not adjudicated guilty."

Price retains the right to appeal the original decision of contempt and will have to attend a follow up appearance to see if he has complied with the terms of Thursday's agreement along with eight hours of ethics and evidence legal education.

The follow up is scheduled on November 15.
