Hundreds lined up Thursday evening in front of stores at the Silver Sands Premium Outlet to snatch those discounted items for themselves and loved ones.
A tradition that started off at midnight on Friday is slowly beginning to start earlier every year.
"Our customers have been coming out earlier and earlier every year and so we are just trying to accommodate them, and give them the best shopping experience possible,” said Katie Johnson, Marketing Director for the Silver Sands Premium Outlet. “I mean we are in the service industry and restaurants are open so we are opening too for that customer service."
Store employees and outlet management prepared for months for the amount of people they knew would be out early shopping, even bringing in extra help.
"They are all prepared,” said Johnson. “Their staffs coming in, keeping the stores stocked and ready for shoppers and they can find the merchandise at a great price."
A majority of the stores at Silver Sands Premium Outlet stayed open all night, and through most of Friday evening, and many having sales from 50 to 70 percent off.
"Get them out there to give them the value that is what we want them to do,” said Carl Moak, General Manager for Banana Republic.
