A Blountstown teenager was shot and killed Thursday night during a party in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tulsa police tell News Channel 7 that 18-year-old Chaz Fain is one of four people who were shot at an apartment complex. Fain was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
About an hour and a half later, police arrested 41-year-old Mark Hopkins and charged him with murder.
Fain graduated from Blountstown High School last year. He won a state championship in weightlifting in 2011 and also played football for the Tigers.
"Chaz was a kid that all coaches enjoy having around," said Greg Jordan, Fain's former football coach. "He always had a smile on his face. He was a good kid."
Jordan learned about the deadly shooting from a text he caught in the middle of the night.
"It tears you up," Jordan said. "Chaz was just 18. He had his whole life in front of him. It was taken way too early."
Fain was attending the Spartan School of Aeronautics, a private college that offers training in aviation and aircraft maintenance. Police say the other three victims and Hopkins also attended the school.
Police have not released a motive. But they do say Hopkins was roommates with two of the surviving victims.
