Current Road Conditions in Walton County 8:30 AM Sunday

5 PM Sunday Update on Walton County Roads and Bridges closures:

1. Hinote Rd. Bridge- The water has subsided and the bridge is open to traffic.
2. Laird Rd.- Water has subsided off of roadway and bridge is open to traffic.
3. Co. Hwy 1087- No problems as of now.
4. Eight Mile Creek Bridge on Natural Bridge Rd.- Road is open
5. Raley Rd. Bridge still open, water subsided
6. Long Rd. Bridge is open

3. Shoal River was listed at 16.5 ft @ 02:30 flood stage is 14ft adv will poss rise to 20.2 ft by Tuesday morning
4. Choctawhatchee is @ 12.2ft flood stage 13ft expected by Tuesday to be at 20.5ft

The following roads have been closed:

Natural Bridge

Penn Williams from Punchbowl to BA Kelley Rd

Woods Rd.

Padgett Rd. from Scott Rd. to C.R.183B

Updated @ 12:00 PM Saturday by Wendy Ammons, Walton Co. Sheriff's Office.

· Cowford Rd—rough but no structure threat

· Laird Rd—water about 18 inches from bottom of bridge

· Shoal River in the area of 1087—flooded but no structure threats

· Raley Rd—about 3ft from bottom of bridge

· Engles Rd—about 1ft from bottom of bridge

· Dead River Road is passable to the end but a lot of standing water

· Camp House Landing and Lonnie Miller Rd passable but there is standing water

· 1.5-2ft from bottom of bridges on River Road. Water is flowing across @ 2191 River Road.

· Bruce Creek on Mckinnon Bridge Road (1st bridge from 83) is about 1ft away from bottom of bridge

· Bruce Creek has risen, along with Seven Runs

· Southern most bridge on Long Road has water close to bottom of bridge

· Bridge on Co Hwy 181 @ 8 mile creek has water touching the bottom of the bridge

· Flowersview Rd has standing water but passable

· Indian Creek Ranch Road is flooded at bridge

Deputies are out checking road conditions around Walton County. They have been working on this for some time and continue to advise. Below is a list of road closures, water over roads, and raising waters in parks.
-Tilley Landing is closed (gate locked up at this time)
-Dead River Road is very muddy. The water is over the dock at the public boat ramp.
-Water is up to the bottom of the stairs at picnic area of Morrison Springs.
-Walton Bridge Road is very muddy but passable at this time.
-River Road is passable to the end but the boat ramp is flooded.
-End of Big Cedar Road is under water.
-Rooks Bluff is 1 ft from picnic tables.
-At Simplers Fish Camp, water is over picnic tables.
-Choctawhatchee River is swollen and about 3 feet from small bridge. (We are not clear which small bridge the deputies are talking about).
-Cowford Road is slippery.

There have been no reports from Walton County deputies that homes are being threatened at this time.

Watch for water in the road at the following locations:
-There is water on road in the area of Raley Road and Dr. Nelson Road.
-Co Road 1883 just past 2826.
-US Hwy 331/ south of Victory Baptist Church
-Hwy 83/ north of Co Road 192
-Co Hwy 1084/US Hwy 331
-US Hwy 331/ just south of Tom Thumb in Paxton
-Chesser Road at the bridge
-Road into Steefield and Bunker is very slippery
