LYNN HAVEN - An abandoned Lynn Haven business is under fire for some hazardous animal remains. Clean up crews say they found several deer carcasses, debris, and rats under the former Done-Right Deer Processing facility off Highway 77.

Sandy's Feed and Seed leased the land and building to Done-Right Deer Processing. Not only are they stuck cleaning-up the mess, they also say this is damaging their reputation.

ServPro clean up and restoration crews spent most of Thursday pulling trash and debris out from under the former Done-Right Deer Processing building in Lynn Haven.

There's been a deer processing business at this location for years, but under different owners. The last one left the site about six months ago.

Only recently did Sandy's Feed and Seed managers learn that someone dumped deer carcasses underneath the building.

"They're treating everything as if it's contaminated because there's no way to determine how much is affected underneath the deck," said Trevor Bus, ServPro Project Manager.

Sandy's owners are pointing the finger at the former Done-Right owner Nick Murphy for failing to properly dispose of the deer remains.

Lynn Haven city commissioners recently banned any new meat processing businesses from opening because of these type of concerns , but they say this discovery is troubling.

"Now I have some really real concerns about what goes on because I understand that some of the materials that they dispose of was being done in other areas other than the sewer system," said Walter Kelley, Lynn Haven Mayor.

Sandy's owner also says she's suing Done-Right Deer Processing's owner.

Cleaning crews will be back on the property Friday and hope to have it cleaned up in the next few days.
