A Delta connection flight from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport to Atlanta never made it off the ground Saturday due to a minor collision before take off.

Flight 5272 operated by Express Jet Airlines was scheduled for take-off at 12:41pm Saturday afternoon but during push-back from the gate the plane backed into the jetway ramp causing damage to one of the wings.

49-people on board. There were no reported injuries. Some passengers said the collision was so strong it almost stopped the plane on impact.

"It was like a boom and we fell, and people got excited and scattered about" said Olivia Vaugger, a passenger onboard the plane. Vaugger was supposed to be on the first leg of her return flight home to Austria but the incident is causing her to stay in Panama City Beach a little longer than expected.

The plane involved in the incident is currently being inspected by maintenance crews. A replacement aircraft was sent over to the airport and flight 5272 was rescheduled to later in the afternoon.

Just one more "fender bender" chalked up for the area. Must have been a local driver.
