The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department is welcoming the holiday season a little early while teaching children the importance of safety.
Officers are celebrating the first annual Freeze Crime in Snowvember event.
Organizers decorated the Calhoun County courthouse with actual snow brought all the way from Georgia.
Guests could ice skate, play games, and ride ponies.
Businesses such as Florida Health was out at the courthouse as well explaining the importance of health.
Event sponsor, Centennial Bank, offered a viewing of the movie Santa Paws.
The Sheriffs Department also stressed the importance of internet safety.
Sheriff Glen Kimbrel said, "The citizens, their lives are much better if they don't become a victim. We've got so much internet crime now, phone crime. You know name it, somebody is out there figuring out some way to get something you have. We've taken this opportunity this afternoon to educate the public on that"
the free event began at one Saturday afternoon.
