DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- A Dothan woman has been ordered to serve one year in a work-release program after she pleaded guilty to stealing from the Columbia Baptist Association.
The Dothan Eagle reports that a Houston County judge sentenced 52-year-old Tonya Renee Woodward to 46 months in state prison for each of the felony theft charges filed against her. Those sentences were suspended, but Woodward will have to serve 12 months in the county's work release program, called Houston County Community Corrections.
Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford ordered her to report to the corrections facility every night to spend nights there for the next year.
The judge also ordered Woodward to pay $117,372.50 in restitution to the Columbia Baptist Association.
Woodward apologized in court, saying "I can't begin to say how much I'm sorry."
