There is a high risk of rip currents today and tomorrow along the beaches of Northwest Florida and the beaches of the Florida Big Bend.

Increasing onshore winds out ahead of a series of low pressure
systems is create large breaking waves and dangerous rip currents at area beaches Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

In fact, High Surf Advisory will likely be needed for Tuesday night and Wednesday as a very strong cold front approaches from the west.

Beach winds are running southwest 15 TO 20 mph and surf is running three to five feet. Wind and surf conditions support dangerous rip currents today and Tuesday. Rip currents are life threatening to anyone entering the water.
