Facebook Post Leads To Theft Arrest

A picture on Facebook lands a couple behind bars.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, a man took his boat to Hayes Mobile Marine to be repaired. But he never heard from the shop again, even after making numerous calls.

More than a year later, the man saw a picture of his boat on Facebook, or at least what was left of it. The boat had been stripped down to its hull.

On June 12, investigators found the boat at 905 McKenzie Avenue in Panama City.

They arrested Timothy and Jessica Hayes. Timothy Hayes was charged with Grand Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Dealing in Stolen Property. Jessica Hayes was charged with Grand Theft, criminal Mischief, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Presenting a False Identification to Regulated Metals.
