The Kalvoda family from Minnesota is spending their spring break in Panama City Beach.
"The grandparents are down here and when we researched it we found a lot of great things for the kids to do as well," said Ron Kalvoda.
According to a new poll, the Kaldova family is not the norm, when it comes to the type of spring break visitors we usually get.
That poll shows, Panama City Beach is not a top spring break destination for most families.
The beach has not been able to completely shake its wild stigma, but the Tourist Development Council said the beach is family friendly, and there is something for everyone.
"Our tagline is, “Real Fun Beach”, and it really is a real fun beach,” said Susan Estler, the vice president of marketing for the TDC. “There's something for everyone and an interest for everyone."
And they are quick to point out that March is the third largest collection month for the tourism bed tax, and the Spring Breakers are an important part of the beach's market.
However, June and July are the biggest months, which is when more families visit.
“We’re here to have fun too, it’s just a different kind of fun,” said Kalvoda.
