Trayvon Martin’s parents have a heavy heart now that George Zimmerman has been released from jail on bail as he awaits his second-degree murder trail.

Martin’s parents attorney, Benjamin Crump said Monday that they would have rather seen Zimmerman stay in jail until he is tried for killing their 17-year-old son during a February 26th confrontation at a gated community.

Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton hope Zimmerman’s freedom is temporary.

The attorney for Zimmerman, Mark O’Mara, now says Zimmerman would not have apologized during the bond hearing if they’d known the teen’s family felt it was the wrong time.

During his bond hearing on Friday, Zimmerman took the witness stand and apologized to Trayvan Martin’s parents for the loss of their son. O’Mara says Zimmerman was simply trying to reach out to the family. But an attorney for Martin’s family spurned the apology.

Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder and was released on bond around midnight Sunday.

In a low-key event, Zimmerman was released from jail on $150,000 bail as he awaits trail for fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. He was following another man and didn’t look at the media gathered outside.

No questions were shouted at Zimmerman from the news media at the scene and he gave no statement. He has been fitted with an electronic monitoring device that can track his moves.

His ultimate destination is being kept a secret for his safety and it could be out of state.

Zimmerman is pleading not guilty and has claimed self-defense.

His arraignment has been set from May 8th, 2012.
