North Bay, Fl-- The snow storm in the Northeast is affecting airline travel all over the country, including here in Bay County.
The one word you never want to hear during holiday travel, "delayed", but according to Deputy Executive Director at NWF Beaches Airport, it's one you may have to expect,
"Theres a large snow storm, winter storm moving across the country. Anytime that happens, there is going to be delayed flights due to connections, due to the ability to get runways cleared, everything like that and it has an impact on the whole natioanal aviation system."
McClellan also has some sound advice for the more seasonal travelers.
"Be prepared, pack your patience and understand that there may be delays and even though you may be going from here to atlanta and there is no weather, that airplane could be coming from somehwere else where there is a delay."
So if you are a victim of a delayed flight, there is some good news according to McClellan,
"You know most of these things are a one day delay. As we saw yesterday there were a significant number of flights delayed in Chicago. That storm is moving east and is moving up the northeast now. So chicago is back to normal and it's a day later. So it's not going to be a long time but be patient. That's all i can say."
There have been over twenty five hundred flight delays natinwide in the past two days.
