PANAMA CITY This weekend kicks off this year's hunting season in Florida.
From the 28th through December 1st, hunters will be allowed to use general guns to shoot deer and wild boar.
Hunters will still not be able to use rifles by Tyndall Air Force Base.
That area requires shotguns or muzzle loaders.
Automatic weapons are also not allowed and some calibers are too small.
But hunters say this is a day they've been preparing for all year.
C&G Sporting Goods has seen more gun sales in the past few days than they've ever seen.
C&G Sporting Goods Owner Ronnie Groom says, "We sell hunting/fishing licenses, we got maps and information. We got a deer contest they can register for for free, and we're just really busy this time of year thank goodness."
The next general hunting days will be December 14th through February 23rd.
