A Jackson County Commissioner is facing battery charges.
Commissioner Jeremy D. Branch was arrested Tuesday at a bar in Tallahassee.
According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office booking report, Branch was arrested after a bar patron of Baja's Beach Club approached an officer and told him Branch punched him in the face.
The victim told police he was leaving the club with a friend when he mistakenly bumped into Branch, and immediately apologized.
The victim claims Branch "took a fighting stance and punched him in the face."
Branch has been a Jackson County Commissioner since 2006.
He's also served on the Jackson County Tourist Development Council and other committees.
Commissioner Branch was also chosen by the board to serve as its chairman in 2008.
