A Quincy jury found Deric Mordica not guilty Friday. A female inmate accused Moridca of exchanging sex for bond money.
She claimed Mordica did not post her bond, and said that is when she reported the incident.
Sex between guards and inmates is illegal in Florida whether it's consensual or not.
"It was a fairly straightforward case, the state really didn't have any physical evidence to support the alleged victim's statements, it took the jury about 30 minutes to deliver a verdict and I think that's just about all they needed to find him not guilty."
The victim has a pending civil lawsuit against Mordica and the Gadsden County sheriff's office.
