Jerry Sandusky Sentenced to at Least 30 Years in Prison

Only in court about an hour... No where nearly the max but still equivalent of life.

Jerry Sandusky left the Centre County courthouse from a back door in cuffs and a red orange jumpsuit, showing little emotion just minutes after being sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison.

The convicted child sex abuser's Attorney Joe Amendola says he's already preparing to appeal the ruling. "We're going to challenge the fact that we needed more time to prepare adequately jerry's defense."

The former Penn State Assistant Coach again declared his innocence before the court, echoing some of his words from a statement last night on Penn State radio.

Law professor Wes Oliver described Sandusky as emotional and confusing but void of any remorse. "The statement was very bizarre. There was a one line where he said I’ve been kissed by dogs, I’ve been bitten by dogs."

"His statement today was a master piece at denial self delusion and completely undeterred from reality and without any acceptance of responsibility," said Prosecutor Joe McGettigan.

Neither Sandusky's wife or daughter spoke but both attended Tuesday's hearing. Three victims did speak detailing the impact of the sexual abuse they suffered while connected to Sandusky's charity for underprivileged kids.

He was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys over 15 years.

“There will be more justice and few victims because of them i hope this trial and its outcome causes them to be known as victims anymore but by the character they displayed," said McGettigan.

For them, Tuesday's hearing was one small step toward healing and closure.
