Jury Seated For Murder Trial

BAY COUNTY-- Testimony is set to begin tomorrow at the Bay County Courthouse in the trial of an Atlanta man charged with first degree murder.

Attorneys selected 8 women and 6 men today to decide the fate of 28 year old Kevin Jeffries.

Jeffries, along with 27 year old David Challender and 28 year old Ashley Griffin are accused of torturing, killing, and robbing 90 year old Wallace Scott in April 2013.

Sheriff's investigators say they beat Scott until he gave them the pin number to his bank card, then strangled him in his Lynn Haven home.

The state is seeking the death penalty, but Jeffries attorney, Walter Smith has filed 2 motions hoping to get the death penalty tossed out.

Judge Brantley Clark has not ruled on those motions.

Attorneys will present opening statements tomorrow morning.
