Panama City- Local candidates made an appearance at FSU-PC Friday morning.
Each had only 90 seconds to tell Chamber of Commerce members why they should be elected or re-elected this November.
Congressman Steve Southerland says he should be re-elected citing his fight for more jobs in the recent Eastern Shipbuilding deal.
Chamber members heard from Richard Harris, a Marianna Independent running for senate along with all of the candidates for Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Bay County Commission Districts 3 and 5.
The race for Bay County's School Superintendent got heated when candidate Mackie Owens made his stance on the recent privatization of food services.
"I was against the privatization of food service and will be against the privatization of transportation," said Owens.
"It's been very difficult, but we've made those tough decisions and I stand by those tough decisions. We have lowered property taxes and we have a great school system that I'm very proud of," said current Superintendent Bill Husfelt.
Election Day is November 6th.
