49 year old Timothy Ray Chesnut of Panama City Beach was arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 24th, deputies responded to a home on Gulf View Drive in Panama City Beach after the resident discovered the glass shattered in her front door and items in her bedroom disturbed.

The victim stated she felt the suspect could be a man she knew as “Tim” who she hired to fix her vehicle. She stated many people she knew used him because he did car repair at a reasonable price.

Deputies found a screw driver with an orange handle in the bedroom. The victim stated she was positive it belonged to “Tim”. Next to the screwdriver was the victim’s jewelry box with several pieces of jewelry missing. Also missing was a jar of coins with a value of about a thousand dollars.

The victim stated while she was away from the home that afternoon, “Tim” had called her numerous times, asking where she was and when she was coming home. She said this was unusual for him to call her so many times.

Deputies spoke with a neighbor who told them he had observed a man driving a white Ford Explorer come to the victim’s home that afternoon while she was gone. He stated he had seen the man at the home previously, working on the victim’s car. He stated he believed the man stayed a short time and then left.

At this time, none of the stolen items have been recovered.
