Local Man Sentenced to 35 Years For Pregnant Wife's Murder

LYNN HAVEN - A Lynn Haven man will spend more than three decades in prison after pleading no contest to killing his pregnant wife.

In May of 2012, Gary Tennyson was arrested after Lynn Haven police investigators found his wife's body stuffed in a shed.

Officers later determined that Tennyson's wife, Glenda was pregnant with twins when she was killed.

Investigators say she was stabbed repeatedly.

He was charged with second degree murder.

At the Bay County courthouse Tuesday, Tennyson changed his plea from not guilty to no contest.

Previously, Tennyson's mental health condition was an issue in the months before the murder.

Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet then sentenced Tennyson to 35 years in prison.

Tennyson will also have to pay the family of the victim $5,000 dollars along with court costs.

Judge Overstreet is requesting a prison that has mental health resources for Tennyson.

He will not have a right to appeal his sentencing.
