Local Sheriff's Deputy Delivering Relief Items to Sandy Victims

Last week we told you how one sergeant with the Bay County Sheriff's office was hoping to bring some relief to hurricane sandy victims in his hometown - and your response has been tremendous.

All of the donated items will be going to Toms River, New Jersey. Bay County Sheriff's Sergeant Bill Brotherston says his hometown is almost completely washed out due to Hurricane Sandy with many residents still without power. Local residents here donated food, blankets, diapers, and even heaters to help with the relief efforts.

"This thing is overflowing as a matter of fact, I had the department of transportation come weigh this trailer and I'm severely overweighed,” said Sgt. Bill Brotherson. “So I gotta sort through all this stuff and take what is really needed up there."

Sgt. Brotherston plans to leave with the trailer Saturday morning at 7 am.
