Attorneys picked a jury in the case of 21-year old Edward Daniels, Jr. They selected 6-jurors and 2-alternates to decide the case. The panel consists of 5-men and 3 women.
Daniels owned 2-bull dog mixes that attacked 7-year-old Tyler Jett in April. The boy died from his injuries 5-days later at Sacred Heart Hosptial in Pensacola.
Bay County Animal Control seized the dogs shortly after the attack and both were later euthanized.
Daniels is charged with one count of manslaughter, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence for allegedly cleaning the blood off of his dogs.
Opening statements will begin Wednesday morning. The trial is expected to last through Friday.
If convicted Daniels could face up to 15 years in prison.
