Panama City- The Bay County Property Appraiser's Office is asking for a summary judgement against Faith Christian Family Church's Senior Pastor Markus Bishop.
For approximately eight years, Bishop has allegedly refused to pay property taxes on his multi-million dollar home in a private community, claiming it's a parsonage.
His lawyer says the home sits on church owned property, but attorney's from Bay County's Property Appariaser's Office says the home doesn't qualify for a tax exemption.
The county wants Bishop to pay back-taxes and fines.
Bishop was not in court for Tuesday's hearing.
Judge McClellan said he will issue a ruling in one week on the county's request for a summary judgement.
If he denies the request, the case goes to court.
