Panama City - Elementary school kids could soon enroll in medical school. A new charter school in Bay County plans to offer a mini-med school to its students.

Rising Leaders Academy plans to open in August. It is focused on teaching kids who want experience in health care. Grades six and up will be gender-separated classes, and the school will also offer students six different language courses.

Instead of learning in classrooms, the students will spend a lot of time visiting doctors' offices and other health care related industries.

The school will initially serve grades K-5 but will eventually expand through 12th grade.

Is this the beginning of tayloring schools towards the childs career choice, like they do in Germany, usually with great success. The only difference is Germany makes the career tayloring shift around the 7th or 8th grade.

Please enlighten me as to how spending a lot of time at doctor's offices and other health care facilities will teach kindergarteners basic skills like abc's, math, and reading. This makes no sense to me at all.
