Ten years ago Charlotte and John Greathouse lost their daughter during a home invasion burglary. After years of appeals from the defendant and no recognition of the life lost, they decided to do something for the families who want their loved ones remembered more than the criminal.
They partnered with law enforcement agencies and victims' advocacy groups and formed Missing Place at the Table. It's an emotional event in our area, that's now in it's 7th year.
The program is a chance for families who've lost someone to a violent crime, to remember the good times they had. Family members display pictures and memento's of those they've lost. The table symbolizes their loved one will no longer be able to sit and eat with their family.
The display, located at the center of Panama City Mall, will be up for the rest of the week.
