The start of the New Year comes new laws in Florida, several of them are loosening what was previously on the books.
You may now have a little bit easier time escaping a speeding ticket or noise violation in your car.
Starting Tuesday, Florida drivers are allowed to flash their headlights to warn other drivers of police running radar.
And, can now blast your stereo without too much worry from the police.
There is no longer a Florida statute that allows police officers to site the driver for loud music, but be careful; they can still enforce the bay county ordinance.
Personal Injury Protection Insurance coverage is changing as well, you will still be eligible for $10,000 for emergency medical care and up to $2,500 for minor injuries.
But, a doctor must declare it an emergency within 14 days of the accident.
"If you're in an accident, you better be seeking medical treatment if you need it, within that 14 days,” said Waylon Thompson, with Manuel & Thompson. “If you don’t then there's going to be no benefit for you later on."
Specialty tags for Vietnam War veterans are also now available. They will help raise money for education, research and several charities.
