Sacred Heart Medical group formally opened a new primary care facility in Wewahitchka.
It marks the latest expansion of sacred heart services for Gulf and Franklin counties.
The new primary care location is in the Florida Department of Health in Gulf County building located on West Highway 22.
Primary care services will be provided by Nurse Practitioner Nancy Anderson and will include women's health screenings.
Lab and x-ray services also are available on Friday mornings.
The clinic was opened in response to a vacuum created by the removal of those services by the Gulf County Health Department.
"With the health department backing out and not having the funding to continue on with its commitment up here,we saw the need to come in and of course, the patients is the main need, but also here to serve," said Corey Osborne.
The clinic's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 4:00pm.
