New State Law That Effects Handicapped Parking Permit Holders

A new state law, which goes into effect today, requires handicapped parking permit holders to renew their permits.

To get that renewal, you have to have a statement from your doctor saying you need it.

They will recommend you for either a one-year permit, which is free, or a 6-month permit, which is $15.00.

If your current permit is more than a year old, and it is lost or stolen, you will need another doctor's statement to get a replacement.

Fraudulent use of a permit can result in up to $500.00 in fines.
